Do, Feel, Think: a new approach to marketing success

or, How to Dominate 2024

A National Champion Quarterback, former U.S. Senator, and Reade Milner walk into a bar...

Err, I mean, step up on stage.

Funny, I know, but I did share the stage with UGA Legend Buck Belue and former Senator Kelly Loeffler. Life can be funny sometimes...

Anyway, weโ€™re past the euphoria (and subsequent slog) of the first month of the new year. Letโ€™s put the pedal to the metal as we move into February.

In this issue, I'll share:

  • Highlights and lessons learned from a recent trip in Nashville

  • Insights from my presentation at NAIFA (the stage I mentioned)

  • Actionable steps to supercharge your marketing in 2024

๐Ÿš€ Recent Highlights at Rogue Pine

We've been busy! Recently, we joined a client at a major event at the stunning Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.

Sure, this is a little outside our typical digital-first wheelhouse. But we we saw this as a great opportunity to go from offline to on, so we had to jump on it.

Here's what we did:

  1. We used his presence as a key speaker โ€” structuring his slide deck to include a QR code.

  2. Then, from the stage he offered a free content upgrade to everyone in the audience.

  3. The QR code took everyone straight to a landing page, where they could grab his book and a few other goodies (the prize being a subscription to his regular newsletter).

*more on newsletters in this, uh, newsletter

There are a lot of moving parts to a conference of that size and they can be hectic. But I will say, if you're going to have a massive show like that, do it at the Opryland Hotel.

Just awesome.

๐ŸŒŸ From NAIFA: The 'Do-Feel-Think' Approach to Marketing

This time it was my turn to take the stage for an organization I hold pretty near and dear, the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors.

Better know as NAIFA.

At their Fall Luncheon in Atlanta, I shared a transformative 'Do-Feel-Think' method.

You see, I have this belief that we've got the totally wrong perspective on where inspiration comes from.

Most people try to think really hard about a problem or solution..

Then, they hope this changes how they feel...

Which might get them to do something...

Womp, womp, woooooomp

In reality, it goes like this:

Get up and freaking do the thing.

That will change how you feel about yourself.

Then your thinking on the matter completely changes.

It's all about kicking off with action, letting your emotions align, and then shaping your thoughts.

This strategy has been a game-changer for me. It will help you too.

๐Ÿ›  Implementing the Four F's for Marketing Mastery

In part two, I discussed four easy things you can do (see what I did there) to get your marketing moving.

  1. Find Your Following: Build connections on social media with five meaningful interactions daily.

  2. Find Your Format: Identify your content strengths and focus on them.

  3. Find Your Formula: Create a consistent schedule for content creation.

  4. Forget the Misses: Learn from the mistakes, and keep moving forward.

โœ‰๏ธ Grow Your Email List

I said I'd come back to this, so here it is. A key theme of both events is that your email list is your direct line to your audience.

Focus on nurturing this list with engaging content to strengthen your brand connection.

๐Ÿ“… Setting the Stage for 2024

  • Define Your Goals: What do you want to achieve this year? Set clear, achievable targets. We like 90-day rocks.

  • Plan Your Content Calendar: Align your marketing efforts with key dates throughout the year.

  • Leverage Insights: Use data to revise your tactics and improve over time.
